Review: fullbar Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar

I mentioned in my previous fullbar review that fullbar contacted me after a negative review and sent me a media kit that contained many of their products, including all the flavors of their bars.  So, since I've got all these flavors on my hands, it's only the right thing for me to do to try them all out and that leads me to the Chocolate Peanut Butter bar.  This one comes in at 1.59 ounces with 170 calories and five grams of protein.  It's all natural and also is formulated with their new blend of ingredients that include Slendesta, which is an all-natural hunger block.

As you can see, the general appearance of this bar is basically the same for this bar, as it is for all fullbar products.  That means that the bar is primarily made of of puffy wheat cereal and then flavored with whatever the flavor of choice is for the particular bar.  For these purposes, the flavor is is a very strong smelling chocolate and the puffed wheat cereal is covered in it.  The chocolate covered puffed cereal is then bound together by peanut butter and then topped with a thin swirl of peanut butter icing.

In terms of taste, it's just like any other fullbar in terms of mouthfeel in that the puffed wheat cereal is airy and soft.  One thing that I was not expecting, based on the strong smell of the chocolate, was that the chocolate flavoring would be so muted and mild.  You could definitely tell it was there, but I expected to be overpowered by it.  The fact that it was muted was actually kind of nice, in a way, so I enjoyed that.  The peanut butter flavor was not particularly strong, but you could taste at the back end as you chewed the bar.  What was odd was that while the peanut butter flavor was faint while you were chewing, the flavor kind of lingered in your mouth as an aftertaste.  It wasn't a particularly sweet peanut butter, instead it was just pretty run of the mill peanut butter flavor.

Buy It or Fly By It?  This bar is not going to re-invent the wheel or cure any diseases, but it certainly does not taste bad at all and I would give it a BUY IT rating.  It's a light and pleasing treat and if it has the desired "full" effect on you, that makes it even better.  The jury is still out whether it hast hat effect on me, but at least it didn't taste bad in the process.

BUY IT!!
What is strange about this review is that this is one of the flavors I had previously reviewed (and had not posted yet and will not since this is the review of the "new" blend) and after reading that review, it was almost word-for-word with what this review said.  So, it appears as if the heralded Slendesta change does not really change the flavor of the bar at all, just the effects of the bar, although that is debatable.
