Review: Chobani Raspberry 0% Greek Yogurt

This certainly is not my first Chobani review on this blog and as long as they keep putting flavors out there, it won't be the last.  I've had varying degrees of success in my Chobani reviews before, so let's see how this Chobani Raspberry flavored zero percent fat Greek yogurt pans out.  I picked this one up on sale at Meijer for $1.00 and in its six ounce container, it packs in a punch of 140 calories and fourteen grams of protein.

I've mixed this one up a bit to get a better representation of all ingredients involved, but hopefully you can tell that the yogurt is in this one is not the typical thick and creamy ghost white yogurt that you see in these Chobani products.  In fact, it had a slight pinkish hue and that coloring only deepened once I mixed it together with what I would call the raspberry "jam" that was on the bottom of this yogurt cup.  I call it a "jam" because it didn't have bits and pieces of raspberry like I would have expected, but instead it was more like a raspberry puree.  I was hoping for some small chunks, but not having them really doesn't make a huge difference as long as the flavor is there.

After mixing everything, I took my first spoonful and found this to be quite a pleasant taste.  The unmixed parts of the yogurt (the plain parts) still retained their tart flavoring, but when I mixed in the raspberry "jam", that tartness was overcome by the sweetness of the raspberry.  It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, but instead more of a mild sweetness that provided the perfect counterpunch to the tart yogurt.  It was like yin and yang...they belonged together.

Buy It or Fly By It?  This one goes in the BUY IT category.  The mild sweetness of the raspberry "jam" worked perfectly with the tartness of the yogurt to make a pleasant, cooling and refreshing treat.  Being that it is zero fat and packs a ton of protein, this is one of the healthy products that really follow through in performance and taste.  Don't hesitate to pick this one up if you see it in the store, especially if it is on sale.

BUY IT!!
